| Welcome to the Dolphin Index Questionnaire |
|
The Dolphin Index Questionnaire (DIQ) is a questionnaire for assessing important features of team, departmental and organisational climate. 'Climate' refers to perceptions of an team, department or organisation shared by, or aggregated across, employees. Empirical relationships have been found between climate variables and indices of organisational performance such as creativity, innovation, employee absenteeism and turnover. The Dolphin Index Questionnaire (DIQ) incorporates thirteen scales. These are 'commitment', 'freedom', 'idea-support', 'positive relationships', 'dynamism', 'playfulness', 'idea-proliferation', 'stress', 'risk-taking', 'idea-time', 'shared view', 'pay recognition', and 'work recognition'. With the exception of 'stress', higher scores on each scale relate to more favourable team, departmental and organisational outcomes, including lower turnover intention, increased job satisfaction and greater job and organisational commitment. Over in excess of 4000 respondents from U.K. and other European organisations have completed the DIQ, which is now in its third revision. |
